Toys to Sew

I was pleased to find Toys to Sew at the library last week

It has dozens of adorable toy projects, but the cloth doll patterns in the first half of the book aren't really my style so I had been resisting buying it.
Little houses--I think this is my favorite

Isn't the fabric used to make this great?

I like how the sections of the shell were pieced so they can purposely fray

The embroidered accents on the dinosaurs are a nice touch

gosh, I recently picked that up at my library as well! loved it, studied it, but ultimately didn't make a thing from it and sent it back. GORGEOUS photography, no?

Donna,
Glad you found your way to my blog so I could discover yours! Although I am the anticraft person (as in craft supplies develop the ability to run from me through sheer fear of what I will attempt to do with them) I too love a good thunderstorm (thank you Mom,who used to pull up chairs to the window, pass me a cup of something to drink and taught me to enjoy Mother Nature's show) and honeysuckle! I was overjoyed to find it here in Akita!
Wondering if I know you from any other e-lists? You're studying Japanese?
And even though sewing on a button is the greatest challenge I've ever risen to, I LOVE seeing all your knitting creations! Is this pure hobby or do you sell your stuff too?

Man my son would have me busy for months is he ever saw this page! I can not wait for him to learn to sew. He asked for a sewing kit! How cool is that! But for now he art directs me while I sew his imagined projects.

BTW...I think your embroidery work is the bee's knees!
